CHAPTER HISTORY

The Exhilarating Xi Delta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was organized at the University of Pittsburgh on December 3, 1971 by 13 magnificent women. Following the mission set forth by the founders, the Xi Delta chapter succeeded in implementing the principles of Zeta Phi Beta. Although many trials have tried her, she has continued to prove herself to be the epitome of finer womanhood. 

The eXhilarating Xi Delta chapter holds dear to the sorority motto and strives to be a community conscious, action oriented chapter. Amongst other activities, the chapter participates in many community service endeavors, from mentoring young students to helping the less fortunate and homeless. Xi Delta has partnered with several organizations such as: 

• Healthy Minds Mentoring

• Adopt-A-Block 

• Oakland Planning Development Corporation (OPDC)

• Keep it Clean Oakland 

• March of Dimes 

Xi Delta has received several awards of recognition for outstanding service to the surrounding communities and has been featured in several newspaper articles including the Pitt News and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. 

Over the past 52 years, the Xi Delta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has exemplified excellence in her community and shall continue to uphold the founding principles for many years to come.
