Is there a G.P.A. requirement for women interested in membership?

Candidates must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and have completed at least 12 college credits. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority upholds the highest ideals of scholarship.

I have heard that there is a financial obligation for membership. Is this true, and to what extent? 

Yes, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. funds it's operational and programmatic efforts with the dues and donations of the membership and benefactors. Since membership is lifelong, so is the financial commitment.

 

What is the National-Pan Hellenic Council?

The National Pan-Hellenic Council serves as the “umbrella organization for the nine Historically Black Greek Letter Organizations (HBGLOs). The council  is made up of Alpha  Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi  Beta  Sorority, Inc.,  Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. If I belong to an academic Greek letter organization or Masonic organization, may I seek membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated?

Yes, members of academic and service Greek letter organizations and Masonic organizations may seek membership in Zeta Phi Beta. Members of HBGLO's may NOT.

 

If I am not African American, can I still join?

Yes. We are an equal opportunity organization.  We are interested in women, who understand the founding principles of the organization and are willing to uphold and support the founding principles and values of Zeta Phi Beta.

 

What is the relationship between Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity?

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity are the only constitutionally bound brother/sister organizations. However, they are two Separate organizations. To learn more about Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc at the University of Pittsburgh, please email ekpittsigmas@gmail.com.

 

 If I meet all requirements specified, do I automatically receive an invitation for membership?

No. Our goal is to select women who not only meet the basic requirements, but also exceed them. As Zetas, we must continue our tradition of excellence in all aspects. Although membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is by invitation only, we encourage interested women who have a baccalaureate degree, exhibit excellent personal character with high moral code and who have a commitment to contact us.
